EPF launches new project to eliminate fraud |
Sep 20 (DM) The Employees Provident Fund has launched a project to re-register over 2.5 million of its members under their National Identity Card numbers which will serve as their account numbers for all purposes, Labour Minister Athauda Seneviratna said. �This will help eliminate fraud and step up the efficient functioning of the Fund,� he said. Minister Seneviratna said the Central Bank and the Labour Department have jointly set up a database replacing the old account numbers with the new employee numbers of active accounts.

Central Bank Governor confident of 8 per cent economic growth in 2008 |
