Temples, Churches fear electricity bill hike will leave them in the dark

Nearly 400 disabled monthly

June 20 (SAMN) The Health Ministry Thursday revealed that on an average 400 persons are disabled per month due to injuries sustained in bomb blasts, war confrontation and diabetes. Baby sold for Rs.8,000

Sri Lanka private sector credit slows, spike in state credit

June 21 (LBO) Sri Lanka's private sector credit had slowed to 15.1 percent by April 2008 following tight monetary policy, though state credit had spiked in that month, but inflation would slow after July, the Central Bank said.
