Only 200 teachers reported out of 954 new appointments

Jun 11 (DM) Education Minister Susil Premajayantha told Parliament yesterday that out of a total of 954 appointments given during the first week of June, only 200 graduate teachers had reported for duty so far. The Minister said that all these graduates were recruited to the teachers service based on the schools where the vacancies existed.
