Anti-fraud measures cause delays in VAT refunds

Nov 21 (Island) Responding to criticism that the Inland Revenue Department was delaying VAT refunds, Commissioner General of IR Mahinda Medagoda yesterday said that they had been forced to take a series of measures to thwart fraudulent activities.
