June 24 (CT) The Hakmana police arrested a 30-year- old woman, who injured the genitals of her brother-in law with a sharp object in Kirinda, Puhulwella, on Friday. The suspect was ordered to be remanded till 5 July after she was produced yesterday before the Matara Additional Magistrate, Dulani Amarasinghe. Investigations revealed that the incident occurred over a personal dispute and the woman and the victim were both involved in an illicit relationship.

Illegal buildings on state land to go, says UDA |
June 24 (ST) The Urban Development Authority (UDA) is to demolish unauthorized constructions built on State owned land within the Colombo city and its suburbs, a senior official of the Authority told the Sunday Times.
