Jan 23 (Island) Minister Dinesh Gunawardena told Parliament that the govt had allocated Rs 17.3 million to purchase tear gas, ammunition and equipment, gas masks, helmets, shields, rubber bullets and batons for the riot squads of the police in 2012.
