July 31 (Island) Pope Francis has said that he is considering an invitation from Sri Lanka to pay a visit to the country next year. "He said he was thinking of traveling to the Holy Land next year and is considering invitations from Sri Lanka and the Philippines as well," a report filed from aboard the Papal aircraft said. Pope Francis� remarks came Monday during a plane journey back to the Vatican from his first foreign trip to Brazil.

Sri Lanka studying fresh locations for super-critical coal plant |
July 31 (LBO) Sri Lanka is studying locations to site a high tech coal plant for which funding is expected from Japan, after concerns over the initial location. The 500 MegaWatt coal plant was to be built at Athuruwella in the South West coast of the island.
