Law amended to accommodate growing debt: Harsha |
July 17 (CT) The government is increasingly transferring its growing debt burden on to banks as it amends legislation to extend by seven more years a 2013 deadline to bringing down the debt to GDP ratio by 60%. According to the Sri Lanka Economic Association, a debt to GDP ratio above 60% would have a negative impact on real economic growth. COMBank to buy Indra Finance for Rs. 870 m |
July 17 (FT) Commercial Bank disclosed that it intends to fully acquire the unlisted Indra Finance, for Rs. 870 million.
