Tusker kills jumbo in duel |
Sep 21 (DN) A duel between two wild elephants - a tusker and an elephant - resulted in the death of one of the elephant. The tusker had attacked the elephant with its tusks in over than 30 places of its body inflicting deep wounds. NCPA receives 6,500 child abuse complaints within eight months |
Sep 21 (Island) Chairperson of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) Dr. Natasha Balendra said that her institution had received over 6,500 complaints of child abuse so far this year. The majority of complaints had been received from Colombo District (936). Gampaha District was in second place with 688 complaints.
