Oct 6 (SL) There has been a sharp decline in milk powder imports from 84,000 tonnes in 2,012 to 3,200 tonnes during the last seven months, said Champika Ranawaka, Minister of Technology and Research on Wednesday. Addressing a media briefing at the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI), Minister said ITI officials had the full capability to conduct investigations and ascertain as to whether imported milk powder is contaminated with DCD (Dicyandiamide).
