Jan 30 (Reuters) Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels blamed troops for a roadside bomb that killed 17 people, most of them children, on a school bus on Tuesday, but a military spokesman denied the accusation. Jan 31 (M&C) Tamil rebels in Sri Lanka on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the United Nations about a roadside bomb attack on a school bus allegedly carried out by the army in the north-western part of the country. Thai fabric designer unveils mosquito-proof robes for monks

Tsunami survivors afraid to occupy new homes due to war threat

Jan 31 (UCAN) While Tamil tsunami survivors on the Jaffna peninsula thank the Church for newly built houses, they fear being caught between rebel and government forces if fighting resumes. Jan 31 (LBO) Sri Lanka's inflation rose by 3.0 percent in January driving 12-month inflation to 20.8 percent on a revised index of consumer prices in Colombo, the government's statistics office said.
